FAQ

Send us information about the product or service that you want to advertise. The information can be, for example, a link to the product/service page, a brochure, or a short description. Our team will get back to you with the contextual setup for your inquiry, including the number of articles and impressions to estimate potential reach, URLs to example articles, and mock screenshots.

Yes, you will be able to see your campaign performance live in our Campaign Monitoring dashboard whenever you want. If needed, you can also generate reporting documents ad hoc (PDF/PPT/XLSX). Besides the parameters typically listed in ad campaign reports, you will have access to information such as click heat maps, time-in-view, viewability, organization reporting, and reports on non-human traffic (which we don't charge you for).

Absolutely! The effectiveness of a campaign depends on how it is crafted. What message do you plan to proactively tell and to whom? We can consult and help with granular customized targeting, setup, monitoring, and reporting. These are the aspects where PubGrade makes a difference. For many companies, especially on a tight budget, running ad campaigns without PubGrade's cross-publisher targeting feature wouldn't be possible. We enable advertisers to initiate business with publishers, societies, and associations.

Our partners publish thousands of journals with millions of articles, generating millions of touchpoints with specialized audiences every day. With PubGrade, every ad campaign has a customized audience depending on your individual needs. Our team helps you to generate targeting setups suited to the goals of the envisaged campaigns. Within minutes, our platform will let you know the number of relevant articles and total as well as free impressions for this setup. This information will enable you to estimate your share of voice.

We can cover all or part of these aspects for you. You will still have full transparency on what kind of advertisers and campaigns are running and we can set up processes and systems where you remain in full control.

Just give us a call and we'll look into your use cases and how you can benefit from our solutions. We try hard to enable smaller societies and associations to benefit from our technology stack to generate paid advertising revenues, but also to leverage the technology for internal marketing.

Yes. We have developed contextual campaign forecasting technology that for any given campaign will be able to tell you and your advertisers the number of impressions available.

Our solutions are not exclusively tied to life sciences or medical content. Just give us a call and we will look into your use cases and talk about how you can benefit from our solutions.

The service will help you identify and extract scientific leads who are engaged in the relevant research areas or have mentioned relevant products - for example, previous versions of your new product or your competitors' equivalent products. Your sales team can use these insights strategically to approach these leads. If you're using our Contextual Advertising service to generate awareness and leads, you can further support your product launch with a display ads campaign, targeting specifically readers of publications dealing with relevant research or mentioning relevant product names.

Our smallest license includes 5 seats, larger licenses can go up to 150. As we charge a flat fee, the number of seats a client can assign is dependent on their needs, and not affordability.

Our license for small companies and start-ups starts at 7,200 EUR per year.

The PubGrade publisher network brings together peer-reviewed journals and scientific publisher environments into one contextual advertising solution for life science marketers. Instead of planning campaigns one title or one publisher at a time, advertisers can access a broader scientific environment across multiple participating publishers, societies, and journal portfolios. This makes it possible to build campaigns around relevant scientific topics, disciplines, and reading contexts at greater scale.

PubGrade works across a broad network of publisher and society environments covering many life science disciplines and research specialties. The network includes global academic publishers, specialist scientific publishers, and professional societies, giving advertisers access to a wide range of trusted peer-reviewed journal environments. Because the network continues to evolve, advertisers looking for a specific publisher, journal family, or discipline can contact PubGrade for current availability and campaign planning.

Yes. PubGrade campaigns can be built around specific scientific disciplines, journal groups, research topics, and contextual signals, rather than being limited to a single fixed title list. That means a campaign can be shaped around areas such as oncology, immunology, neuroscience, diagnostics, microbiology, or methods-focused workflows, depending on your goals. In many cases, PubGrade can create a campaign-specific mix of relevant journal environments across publishers to match your audience, geography, and scientific focus.

A scientific journal advertising network helps life science marketers run one campaign across multiple peer-reviewed journals and article contexts through a centralized buying, targeting, and reporting workflow. PubGrade combines cross-publisher reach with article-level contextual targeting, so campaigns appear next to the scientific content most relevant to your audience.

Publishers sell their own inventory well. But for advertisers, buying journal advertising one title or one publisher at a time can be slow, fragmented, and hard to scale. PubGrade brings relevant scientific environments together in one cross-publisher workflow, so marketers can reach the right audiences without managing multiple separate bookings, contracts, and reporting streams.

Because the environment matters. Peer-reviewed scientific journals place your message in a professional setting where scientists, researchers, and healthcare professionals are working, learning, and making decisions—not casually scrolling in a consumer or “blue jeans” environment. When your ad appears next to trusted scientific content, it benefits from greater contextual relevance, stronger brand fit, and a setting that reflects the seriousness of your audience and your offer.

Research Analytics supports product management, market intelligence, strategy, marketing, business development and leadership teams at established life science companies and startups.

Depending on your Research Analytics setup, you can investigate publications, preprints, grants, conference presentations, clinical trials, patents and corporate filings. Results can be analyzed by time, person, organization, geography and other user-defined dimensions.

PubGrade can identify product-use and installed-base signals from scientific evidence. Users can search product names and models, connect mentions to researchers and organizations, compare activity over time and inspect why each result was included.

These signals indicate documented product use; they do not necessarily confirm current product ownership at every account.

Citation databases are valuable for finding literature, analyzing citations, benchmarking research, and evaluating research performance.

PubGrade is built for the operational next step: turning a precise scientific question into structured lists of relevant people and organizations. Teams can inspect the evidence behind each result, refine the search logic, tag records, save searches, set alerts, and export selected results for journal, meeting, audience, and outreach workflows.

Yes. You can search where a product is mentioned, analyze the surrounding techniques and applications, and identify research fields or workflows outside its established positioning.

Search logic, filters and analytical setups can be saved and versioned. Teams can rerun the same analysis, monitor incremental changes, set alerts and export structured results.

PubGrade can help users analyze patent activity, assignees, inventors, technologies and scientific context. It supports patent landscape and opportunity research but does not replace legal advice or professional freedom-to-operate analysis.

Yes. PubGrade can support product citation matching and make the resulting data available within a company’s Research Analytics setup. The precise scope depends on the licensed data and matching requirements.

Yes. Teams can identify researchers and organizations across universities, hospitals, research institutes, pharma, biotech, CROs, CDMOs and corporate R&D.

PubGrade dynamically calculates a contextual h-index using only the publications matching your current search.

Unlike a fixed, career-wide h-index, it helps you understand an author’s influence within the specific topic or research context you are exploring—without unrelated fields distorting the result.

If your society’s journals or conferences are already indexed by PubGrade, you can analyze the associated authors, presenters, institutions, topics, and scientific activity directly.

For proprietary member, subscriber, or participant data, contact us to discuss your requirements. Depending on the use case, PubGrade can help enrich your records for use in your CRM or internal systems, or explore how your audiences could be matched and represented in Research Analytics.

PubGrade focuses on the life sciences and related scientific fields. Research Analytics connects more than 50 million documents from multiple sources, including publications, preprints, conference presentations, grants, clinical trials, and patents, with associated people and organizations.

Coverage varies by journal, conference, field, and source. Explore Coverage & Data Sources for details, or contact us about a specific journal, meeting, society, or research area. If important content is not yet covered, we can also assess whether a specific conference or new data source can be added.

Scientific lead generation identifies potential customers, partners and experts based on research activity, methods, products, grants, clinical trials and conference participation—not only job titles or company categories.

PubGrade can help identify speakers, presenters, poster presenters, conference presentations, and active researchers connected to the available conference and scientific data.

No. PubGrade is not a complete attendee-list provider. Instead, it helps teams identify scientifically relevant speakers, presenters, researchers, and organizations using transparent, evidence-based sources such as published abstracts and related public research information.

In many cases, so-called “attendee data” in the market may reflect only presenters or other publicly visible participants rather than a verified list of all attendees. When evaluating any attendee-list claim, we recommend confirming exactly what is included, where the data comes from, and whether it was collected and shared with appropriate permission.

Yes. Conference activity can still be a valuable prospecting signal even if your team is not attending. PubGrade helps teams identify relevant researchers and organizations for email and LinkedIn outreach, regional planning, and post-event follow-up.

That said, when possible, we strongly encourage teams to attend and support conferences directly. In-person meetings and networking often create opportunities that digital outreach alone cannot match.

Yes. Combine topic and conference searches with geographic and organization filters to identify relevant researchers, institutions, and companies near a meeting or rep travel destination.

Life science market and competitive intelligence uses scientific, funding, clinical, patent and corporate evidence to understand how technologies, organizations and markets are developing. PubGrade helps teams search these signals, analyze change and monitor relevant activity over time.
